My background in genetics and teaching

I am a Genetics Research Assistant at the University of the Free State and an MSc Wildlife Forensics researcher. I hold a BSc in Forensic Science and Genetics and an Honours degree in Forensic Genetics, and I have experience teaching and supporting university students.

I use this background to explain Grade 12 Life Sciences clearly, especially genetics, DNA, meiosis, inheritance and scientific investigations.

Are the classes online?+

Yes. Classes are delivered live online. The required meeting platform and joining instructions will be shared during onboarding.

How many learners are in each class?+

Each founding cohort is limited to a maximum of five learners so that learners can receive individual feedback.

How often are classes held?+

Learners attend two 60-minute classes each week, giving them eight scheduled classes in a typical month.

Is the programme CAPS-aligned?+

Yes. Teaching, revision and question practice are based on Grade 12 CAPS Life Sciences content and examination expectations.

Does the programme guarantee a higher mark?+

No specific mark can be guaranteed. The programme provides structured teaching, practice, feedback and accountability. Improvement also depends on attendance, participation and consistent practice.

How is a learner placed into a cohort?+

Placement is based on availability, current needs and the spaces available in each small group.

Can a learner join after the programme has started?+

Late placement may be possible when a suitable cohort has space. The learner may first need to complete a diagnostic assessment.
